BTCCSquare news:

Denmark has set an ambitious target to outpace all existing quantum computers with a new €80 million ($93 million) venture named QuNorth. The project, backed by the Danish government and Novo Nordisk Foundation, aims to develop the world's most powerful quantum computer by late 2024.

Microsoft will supply the software for the initiative, leveraging its largest quantum lab located in Denmark. Hardware construction falls to US-based ATOM Computing, with assembly beginning this autumn. The system, codenamed 'Magne' after Norse mythology's symbol of strength, will debut with 50 logical qubits—a quantum leap in processing power for complex chemistry and medical calculations.

Unlike classical computers that struggle with exponential problem complexity, quantum systems like Magne promise to revolutionize computational limits. The project underscores Europe's growing competitiveness in quantum infrastructure, with tech giants betting on practical applications beyond theoretical research.
